Maurice Cass says:
George Mander is the unsung hero for the saving of the steam engines. In the latter stages of its use they had to rob parts from the A and B engines to keep C&D engines going. Sadly a governor from A and B engines somehow got lost. It was taken out of the engine house and used as an ornamental feature at the top of the Headworks at Claymills, but during some additional works it had to be moved and was lost.
