Clay Mills Sewage Pumping Station
Boiler House and pumphouse is on the right.
After closure George continued to keep the boilers warm and looked after C and D engines as best he could for many years. Severn Trent Water continued to use the Claymills office. When they decided to scrap the workshop machinery to use as a store George saved all the machinery and the lime shed engines stored in there by sending them to other sites for preservation. He kept meticulous records of where everything went, took photographs and recorded the engines on the last day of the pumping station operation. Without George's efforts the trust would now just have an empty workshop and only 13 remaining steam engines
