Locations of the 4 Kinder Bank Reservoirs (referred to as Tanks)
The naming is in chronological order of construction. They are not shown on the ordnance survey maps, so the locations are deduced from Lidar Scans.
KB1 the BALANCING TANK built c.1903 at start of the Harrymoor scheme
KB2 the BREAK PRESSURE TANK built May 1909.
KB3 the DIVISION TANK built 1926. (date is from a photo of the opening ceremony.) This reservoir was built to supply Mellor Reservoir which is at about 920 ft aOD to TWL. (the position of KB3 is to be confirmed, but it may be in the adjacent disused quarry.)
KB4 after 1934 (the date of the inquiry into a forth reservoir.)
